RYA Youth Sailing Stage 1
Give your child a fun and confidence‑building start in sailing with our 2‑day RYA Youth Sailing Stage 1 course. Ideal for beginners aged 8–16, this course mixes on‑water sailing, shoreside skills and simple classroom learning. Various dates in May & August 9:30am – 4:00pm each day Young sailors will learn how to launch and recover, sail across the wind, steer, and perform basic manoeuvres.
RYA Youth Sailing Stage 2
Perfect for 8–16 year olds who’ve completed Stage 1, this 2‑day RYA Youth Stage 2 course builds confidence and independence on the water. Dates: 28–29 May | 5–6 August Young sailors will improve skills on all points of sail, learn to tack, gybe, control speed, practise ropework and understand collision avoidance—all while sailing around a course with growing confidence.
RYA Youth Sailing Stage 3
Designed for 8–16 year olds who’ve completed RYA Youth Stage 2, this 2‑day Stage 3 course develops confidence and competence sailing in moderate conditions. Dates: 10–11 August 9:30am – 4:00pm each day Sailors will improve rigging skills, develop sailing theory, practise launching and recovery, and build confidence sailing on all points of sail.
