Duke of Edinburgh - Residentials and Open Expeditions

Gold DofE Residential 

As an approved activity provider, the Mill Adventure Base offers three types of Gold DofE residential weeks throughout the year that enable Gold participants to complete the residential section of the award. They all feature a range of high quality, outdoor centred activities that are based either at The Mill Adventure base, Camp Redwood or on-board a 70-foot narrowboat. Dependant on which option you choose, activities for you to enjoy during your stay with us, could include, but are not limited to:

Pod Residential - rock climbing, mountain biking, caving, canoeing, high and low ropes courses, archery etc.

Narrowboat - completion of the National Community Boat’s association boat handling course.

Camp Redwood - bush-craft, tomahawk throwing, tree climbing, orienteering, archery etc.

Gold residentials are available during

  • February half term                            
  • Summer holidays
  • October half term 

Price is inclusive of:

  • Accommodation:
    • tents at Camp Redwood,
    • camping pods at the Mill and
    • bunks onboard the Narrowboats.
  • All necessary activity equipment
  • Five days/four nights experience with all food included.

Gold DofE Residential Open Expedition Packages 

The Mill Adventure base Approved Activity Provider (AAP) has been delivering DofE expeditions for Nottinghamshire schools and students since 2013. All our staff are highly experienced, qualified, DBS checked & first aid trained. Safe working practices following national guidance, risk assessments, operational procedures and government advice will be followed

We offer expedition packages for all stages of the DofE suitable for individuals that are already enrolled as a DofE participant but are not able to complete their expedition through a school or alternative group.

We offer a wide variety of options at all levels.
