Gold Residential at The Mill Adventure Base
As an approved activity provider, the Mill Adventure Base offers a Pod Residential option for the Gold DofE residential. These are available during February half term, the Summer holidays and over the October half term. Activities include rock climbing, mountain biking, caving, canoeing, high and low ropes courses, archery etc.
Price includes:
- Accommodation - camping pods at the Mill
- All necessary activity equipment
- Five days/four nights experience with all food included (this is a self catered option)
Gold Residential at Hagg Farm
Join us at Hagg Farm Outdoor Education Centre, nestled in the stunning Peak District, for a week of adventure, challenge, and new friendships. This residential fully meets the requirements of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, including the need to stay away from home, take part in a shared activity, and meet new people.
You’ll stay in our main centre at Hagg Farm, with easy access to both on-site and off-site activities.
What you’ll do
Across five action-packed days and four nights, you’ll take part in a variety of adventurous and rural activities, such as:
- rock climbing
- stream scrambling
- open canoeing
- drystone walling
- hillwalking
- high ropes
- bushcraft
- archery
Activities take place both on our 5-acre site and at iconic local venues like Ladybower Reservoir, Burbage Edge, and Millers Dale Bridge.
Our nationally qualified outdoor tutors are amongst the most experienced, enthusiastic and capable that you could meet — and it’s their approach, combined with our excellent facilities, that makes a trip to Hagg Farm so memorable.
Food and accommodation
- Stay in shared four, six, or eight bed rooms (bedding provided)
- All meals included, freshly prepared by our amazing catering team
- We cater for all dietary needs
- The week ends with a celebratory BBQ!

Gold Residential Open Expedition Packages
The Mill Adventure Base Approved Activity Provider (AAP) has been delivering DofE expeditions for Nottinghamshire schools and students since 2013. All our staff are highly experienced, qualified, DBS checked & first aid trained. Safe working practices following national guidance, risk assessments, operational procedures and government advice will be followed
We offer expedition packages for all stages of the DofE suitable for individuals who are already enrolled as a DofE participant but are not able to complete their expedition through a school or alternative group.
We offer a wide variety of options at all levels.
